This is the first track of Bærnan, lyrics comes from an old poem written by an anonymous artist. The poem is about a vampire who lies apparently dead into a swamp, after burning a village. I don't know exactly the date when the poem was written, but it was before Dracula came out.
lyrics
Into the swamp
Near the fount
A corpse is on his on his back.
He is that fucker,
The deceiver
Who burned our homes
A bullet is in his neck
Blood drops red and hot
Blue eyes are frozen, yet he watches the sky
Who could deny, the charm of his gaze
So much tears has fallen while he was alive
So much more will flow now that he’s dead
The crows adorn his tomb
Worms have dug it
Flowers rise up dry and dead
The wood gave him a gift
A crown made of thorns
The night is his kingdom
The shadows are his slaves
The dissonant bleakness of the first track is less weird and more hypnotic than on the second track. That's why I like it a little more. But both songs together make for an extraordinary experience and a journey to the arhythmically beating heart of darkness. mourner
Arkhtinn is one of the best acts in the world of atmospheric black metal, and this album was the thing that got me hooked. It reminds me of other space themed bands like Mare Cognitum and Darkspace. honeycombguy
